Homecoming of Birds Adrift
Date
October 2026
Location
Sculptures @ Firescreek 26
“Homecoming of Birds Adrift” is an installation of small birds, sculpted from creamy white stoneware & porcelain clays during long afternoon chats with my darling bird-loving daughter. The birds are coloured by my imagination.
I have presented each bird perched on a unique piece of driftwood that has been selected & collected during many beach walks accompanied by my darling husband, along the shorelines of many beaches near our home on the Coast.
Each bird in the series is framed. This is intended to capture that moment when the traveller adrift for so long finally stops to rest on the familiar shores of home.
This installation includes shoreline photos of spectacular seascapes captured during many beachwalks at sunrise & sunset.
